Hey guys, I'm heading up to Bishop this weekend from Pasadena for some flying and am looking for anyone that wants to come. I'll be leaving after work and just bivy'ing somewhere Friday/Saturday night. Worse case scenario I'll be renting a car and heading up by myself but if we could carpool or share costs that would be ideal. I'm planning on doing a hike n' fly on Saturday probably in the Whites and then meeting up with some locals on Sunday. Contact me at:

Mike Branger shot this video last Sunday in the Owens, John Buke and Mike only flew 30 miles so the day didn't end up being to long. On Saturday Mike had a 62 miler.

Two thimgs. I may have an empty seat in my Club Wagon going up to Lone Pine Fri 5/23 EARLY = 5:00 AM. (returning Monday.) So if someone wants the seat let me know ASAP and bring lotta gas $$ .......the pig only gets 22 mpg but there are 4 of us paying so far.

Second, 'need a safe place to stash a couple of cars for that w/e and I don't want to leave them all alone at Andy Jackson out there in the middle of no-where. Can anyone volunteer a driveway or something that would be safer that all alone out there at AJ ?

Waves are probably more germane to sailplane flying, but there's some interesting stuff on this site, and the associated rotors do dip down below 20k MSL. The studies focus on Oct-May, because that's when there's enough moisture to form wave and rotor clouds.
