Mexico

We are now into the prime-time flying season

One year ago we stratigically located the best area in the whole region to place a flying site, and the point in that region for the strongest house thermals, then cut the brush and bought the property. Now after one year of experiencing the flying conditions here and landscaping the launch, we are having our grand opening of the site. Come and see why we not only have better and stronger flying conditions and XC options than Valle de Bravo, but also how the logistics are much more convenient here, and the prices much cheaper than Valle. We are the same distance from Toluca and DF as Valle, but south of Toluca rather than West. info - http://picasaweb.google.es/sumocobre

Daniel Pedraza flying at La Malinche Mexico

Daniel Pedraza and I have been continuing to improve the new La Malinche launch of Tenancingo, widening it to accomodate 3 PG or HG wings at a time, planting a grass lawn, making official it's permanent legal status, and improving the access road, in preparation for a Dec.8th and 9th grand opening to visiting pilots. The site is situated directly over a house thermal that can carry one directly to well above 12,000 feet msl, with 360 degrees of cross country and landing options.

Tenancingo Mexico

I posted various photos of the flying here in Tenancingo Mexico. Just to let you all know, I maintain a photo-website with more extensive information about flying in the area.

We will be hosting an invitational fly-in for visiting pilots December 8th and 9th 2007, in preparation for competition flying the following year.

The flying season in this region is excellent in the winter and spring months. We get a whole lot of rain in the summer, mostly in the afternoons. Contact, Daniel Villegas Rojas, 011-52-722-312-3363, , or Daniel Pedraza, 011-52-714-142-2552, 011-52-714-1303 Also there is a great video DVD made by Canadian pilot Brad Henry about the flying in Tenancingo. brad.henry@hubinternational

Cotes Cliffs 2007 pics

Last weekend Cotes Cliffs was about as good as it gets for coastal flying. It blew straight in at about 16 both days. Racked up about 4 hours in the pg and 1 fabulous hour in the hg.

Shortly after this shot the hawk dove at me and flew between the down tube and lower wing wire... 3 times!
