Vintage hang gliders

Forums:

Anybody out here collect vintage hang gliders? Our team rigger has one hanging in his inherited loft of unknown origin, vintage or condition. He has not inpected it. Inside the bag could be scrap aluminum and rotten fabric or a 70s era glider in flyable condition. He asked me to help him move it to a new home but I know nothing of these.

Jeff it is not in our area its down in Ramona. I was planning to help my rigger clean out decades of loft materials & tools and supplies, basically junk and return the unit back to rentable condition. While there open the mystery glider bag and see whats what. If it is complete find a home for it. I'll keep your bid in mind.

Have friend in India might be able to use it.

The patches are on the left leading edge and there is one little piece of duct tape. But it is complete with the exception of one of the AN bolt-nut that holds the down tube to the control bar and three decades of design evolution. Im sure the buyer will replace the control bar with a carbon job.

Jeff B opened up with a bid of $1. All of the proceeds go to the US Parachute team canopy formation rotations team (too wrapped up). All time US champions and fourth in the world. We beat Kazakhstan but were still a few points behind the French :) Like us on Facebook. Currently in Riverside but will deliver..... to crestline or Snore..... for beer. We make no claims to this gliders air worthyness now or even back in the day when new. All i know is that it is lighter than a Condor, I could have used it back on the training hill.

And now for the bonus Question. Which one of these has a better glide ratio? And no hints from Shaggy

BECAUSE IT IS GOING TO A WORTHY CAUSE.

PLUS YOU ARE WILLING TO DELIVER IT TO AJX.

I RAISE MY ORIGINAL BID TOO:

A 12 PACK OF YOUR FAVORITE COLD BEER. (GLEN).

PLUS A CRISPY $1O BILL.

DISCLAIMER: I PLAN TO USE THIS GLIDER FOR DISPLAY PURPOSE AT OUR FLY-INS & WEEK-END FLYING FOR PEOPLE TO SEE THE "EVOLUTION" OF WINGS OVER TIME!

I'll throw in a twenty. As long as it goes to Jeff. Do I hear ten more?
