The King meet was a blast.  The conditions were big. Everyday was flyable except one. Could you ask for anything more? I have to admit I was intimidated by the strong winds and overdevelopment but after a couple flights I started to feel at home. Lots of personal bests for me. Max altitude 17,663 and I didn't even top it out. Max vario 2,461 fpm up and max down of -1,870 fpm. My best flight for the week was 72 miles in 3 hours and 35 minutes. http://www.paraglidingforum.com/leonardo/flight/786919  The meet seemed more like a week long fly in than a comp. I hope I can motivate some of you to come out next year. I know I'll be back.

1900 down is pretty humbling.  I told you so.   You smoked Bill first time there.

I could not have done it without Bill. He gave me a lot of good info on how to cross the big gaps. Plus, he was my driver. When I got to the end of my 73 mile flight I was at 13k and climbing. Bill was telling me how to jump the gap to Salmon to make a 100 miles. He said now get as high as you can and drive down that ridge, and that you won't see any LZ's or the road but it's there. If you get low, head for the canyon. When you get there, you will have enough altitude to find somewhere to put it down. It looked like a big jump and deep. It was only 30 miles. I'm sure I would have made it, but I had no waypoint and no idea what that canyon looked like so I landed.
