NorCal XC league in Dunlap, April 27-28

Since last weekend trip to Dunlap was caneled due to weather, you can consider going this weekend. There will be North California XC league, which is open for both HG and PG. If you don't want to compete you don't have to and still use organized rides to launch and retrive as long as you land in Dunlap valley or follow task course, which is typically to Woodlake or beyond on the good days. Here is Jug's message about April event:

The April event of the 2013 Northern California Cross Country League will be held at Dunlap on 27th and 28th March. Please meet at 9.30am at the community center in Dunlap ready to go up the hill. Accommodation this weekend to be at the St Nicholas Ranch. More details on this later.
The league is open to all pilots - hang-glider and paraglider pilots are all welcome to attend. It is designed to train pilots in cross country flying by flying fixed routes with more abled pilots. The aim of the league is on GETTING PILOTS TO FLY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE. The Cross Country league is an informal series of cross country competitions running from March through to October held at flying sites within driving distance of the Bay Area. The league is set to help pilots of all abilities in improving their flying skills by flying set courses with other pilots. These are essentially a fly in with a mission. Pilots attending the league should be happy thermalling with other pilots and be able to land safely not necessarily in the designated landing zone. Any pilots who can do this is more than welcome at the league.
There is a website devoted to the league: where you can find all the information you need for the league. If you wish to fly in the league please fill out the registration form on the website:

For those of you who have not been to the league before there is a webpage: which explains how the league actually functions and how pilots can prepare themselves for the league and the weekend. For those pilots who have never attended the league before, there is NO CHARGE FOR THE FIRST TWO WEEKENDS.

If you wish to car pool, figure out places to eat or camp, please register with the yahoo groups (

so that you can co-ordinate with other pilots.
There is a charge for $30 per task for the league which covers rides to launch and retrieve.
