T-Shirt Artwork Needed for July 12th Fly-In

The first Fly-In of the summer is scheduled for July 8, 2008, and we'd like to make t-shirts for it, since we haven't done a club shirt in a while.

None of the CSS Board members are artistically inclined, so we're counting on members or interested parties to come up with a design in time for us to get the shirts printed and ready for the fly-in.

So please brainstorm and draw using whatever tools you like and come up with something soon.

hang gliding exhibit at john wayne airport

sitting at the john wayne airport baggage claim area (as i often do) i've thought how cool it would be to see hang gliders hanging from the ceiling. after all, orange county is the home of wills wing, southern california was the epicenter for hang gliding in the seventies, and well, it's an airport!

a month of emails, phone calls, letters, and face to face meetings with the airport administration followed... and this morning, i received notice from the curator of the john wayne airport arts commission that my proposal for a hang gliding exhibit at the john wayne airport, has been officially (and unanimously) approved!

Time-Lapse is Back

The folks where the weather station lives changed from cable internet to DSL, and there was a hitch in the transition, so I went up there and found a subnet mask setting to change and got them back on the net.

The power supply to the Ultimeter 2100 weather base unit had gone out, somehow. Made a trip to Radio Shack in Crestline and got a replacement, which got the weather station back up. The anemometer readings still aren't getting to the base station, and it was too damp, cold, and windy to get up on the roof without a spotter.
