Information about a forum thread author is now presented at the top of the right column of the page, including the author's profile image, if any, so now you have a reason to add an image to your user profile.

Your profile image, if any, will be automatically appended to your forum comments

I've also gone through the image galleries and fixed some file references in the database - there were some huge images that didn't have their thumbnail and preview entries in the db so the gallery pages were showing them full size, which looked like hell. Also tweaked the layout to keep the images and captions from overlapping. If you unexpectedly get a page with a giant image on it (like for the 'Random image' thumbnail at the left) please get the image file name (right-click works for most) and email it to so I can fix it.

Topo maps of Mexico

I have topo maps of Mexico of the Valle de Bravo area, and Toluca, Tenancingo, and Malinalco areas, that I could email to anyone who is interested. (I could also post them, if requested.) They are about 750k file size each in their present forms and are bmp's. contact Daniel -

4 suggestions to the webmeister...

1) As an example, looking at the postings in this discussion:

I would like the see the author's name above the bulk of his message, as it is one of the first things I like to know and find myself scrolling down to get that info before his message.

2) With the same example discussion as above, can we minimize (or maybe remove them completly) the links under the messsage:

New CSS Website (with Forum) To Launch this Weekend,

I'm going to be putting the new version of the CSS website up this weekend, probably late some evening. This forum will become read-only and the new website will have a different type of forum, with mostly the same topic areas. Linking or importing this forum into the new one is impractical.

I suggest that we try to keep some continuity by posting replies to existing forum topics in the new forum. You can go to the post in the old forum that you want to reply to and copy your browser's address/location box content and paste it into your post on the new form; you could also paste relevant text from the post. Web addresses wil be automatically converted to links and email addresses can be entered freely since the software takes some steps to obscure them from search engines.
