Point of the Mountain - July 1st and 2nd

Hi Guys!

Dave and I are in Utah, sitting in a coffee shop waiting for the afternoon overdevelopment to pass. When we arrived last evening, it was flyable on the south side. I managed to get twenty something touch-and-goes! It was really fun. Dave got a boat load of flying too. Then it turned gusty and we packed up.

This morning we were out there again, along with Ryan Voight and Rick (from colorado who we met on hanggliding.org), and Cal, also from the org.

Got a bunch more flying this morning, but there were too many bag pilots.

The Red Devil took a hit this morning. I had just landed when another HG pilot with object fixation problems set up an approach and basically landed right on my left wing. D'oh!

Two badly bent battens were fixable, but the dive stick is a goner. It's still serviceable, especially since tumbling at the point in a Falcon ISN'T going to happen. I'll get a new one when I get home.

The point is really cool. From the north side we watched an amazing electrical storm, and could see the lightning strikes leaving fires all over the valley.

More reports coming soon,

ciao

Object Fixation

Hey Rod,

Was the errant pilot from Oregon and on a blue and white Falcon 225? Dana and I were just about taken out by him at the bottom of the south side earlier in the week. He just kept looking at us and yelling Sorry Guy's while he plowed it into the deck still in his pod!

Have fun, wish I was still up there! I think we may look at another trip up in a few weeks if you're interested in going back up.

Nope

Nope. Different guy. Fusion from Colorado
