Rats, Couldn't flyBut, Lots of HG's flew. Just a few mph over my limit. Maybe tomorrow. Forums > Pilot Reports Flight > PG Sites > Elsinore Some aerial and ground photos of today's flyingIt was a real blast! Got to meet a lot of new folks. Sorry about Dave's damaged car door. :-( Wet feetYes, landed 50 ft from shore. Water depth there was 6 inches ! Just missjudged the head wind. I tend to overthink the first time I land at a new LZ. It really is big and should be doable for one and all. Anybody need a pair of stinky boots that smell like lake sludge ? Excellent day for flying. Going back for more in a couple of hours. Kevin |

We got to experience a new LZ today! It looked fairly large when we walked it, but it's well shielded and has little wind on the ground so if you fly in fast, focus on getting your final lined up with the longest dimension of the LZ. Jonathan and I both dove in fast, had to level our wings a little early while still wanting to turn uphill a bit more and were faced with popping our gliders up over a dirt berm as we ran out of room. Great flying today, lots of smooth lift to over 4K. I heard Kevin Greene chose to land at the Marina and got his feet a bit wet. :)
