Marshall, Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008

Great day! Easy climbs 300-800 FPM with a few 1100+ FPM surprises. Many got to the 7k MSL range. Went to the Cliffhanger from Marshall, then out the east side of Waterman Canyon. Back to Marshall and Sugarpine via Crestline and Pine. The thermals took some concentration to get the most out of smoothly, but otherwise it was easy boating around without worrying. Great 2.5 hours with my US 166. Air was kind of murky down lower after about 15:00. Not cold at altitude but I was in T-shirt and shorts and got chilled later while unzipped near Marshall Peak.

After landing I tried to raise someone in the LZ on 146.415 but ended up talking to Jerome, who was soaring in similar conditions at Soboba.

GPS track images and flight gory details on my website.

Good Flying,

Great Sunday morning reading

Thanks for great wake-up reading, Ken. I wasn't going to fly today but it looks like a Falcon 195 day for me this afternoon.
