CSS on TV Tonight

A friend of mine is a reporter for Channel 5 (KTLA). He was helpful in getting Alan in touch with the reporter from the SB Sun for the recent article. Today he pitched a story about the club's situation in the daily story meeting and it was accepted. He's doing the story as I write this and it should be on tonight's news at 10.

Cheeseeeee walk!

Ha!Ha! I should of WHACKED! Old and Bold!

Nice Job Alan!

Over the years there have been a handful of opportunities for the club to appear in the media and Rob has done a fantastic job of providing the soundbites. Due to circumstances today, Rob was't available for this duty. I think Alan did a tremendous job of representing the club on camera. Not always an easy task.

sound outta sync but here it is

It's been a while since I captured analog and I missed the chance with HD. So, it's a bit outta sync, but I got it as close as I could.

Good job Alan, Megret, et. al.

Great job Alan!

Just viewed the video. Thanks to John for posting and to Marty for putting this together. I owe you a beer.

And a beer for Alan

I will gladly drink a beer with you but my contribution was only a handful of phone calls. Alan did the heavy lifting.

The Sun published a good letter of support in response to the newspaper article:
http://www.sbsun.com/opinions/ci_10346895, though OUR goal is simply to have them relocate some units, not to shut down the entire development.

Keep foothills development-free

Re: "Avoiding rooftops," Aug. 25.

So, another developer wants to build 1,000 homes in the foothills above Cal State San Bernardino.

How short our collective memories are. It was just five years ago that we lived through the terrible destruction of the Old Fire, followed closely by the killer Christmas floods. And many of us remember the Panorama Fire of 1980 and the firestorm that destroyed more than 200 homes in northern San Bernardino.

Like death and taxes, wildfire is a given in the arid landscape of Southern California.

Even so, this issue of development in the foothills raises its ugly head year after year. It is time to put this issue to rest for good. It is past time for the elected members of our city and county governments to grow backbones and tell the developers no.

No EIR necessary, because there will be no development in or immediately below our foothills, now or at any time in the future. No amount of money from any developer is worth the potential of even one more life lost or one more home destroyed. Any homes built in the proposed development are all but guaranteed to be damaged or destroyed in one of California's cyclic catastrophes of fire, flood or earthquake.

This is an election year. Find out where your elected leaders stand on development in the foothills. Then go to the polls in November and exercise your hard-earned, American right to vote for those who would support a permanent ban on foothill development.
