Here's a chance for you

Here's a chance for you photoshop hobby-ists
to do something truly useful. We need to make a poster that shows the view out the windshield of an airliner, showing about half of the pilot and co-pilots back and shoulders and heads, and then right in front of the plane there's a PG and an HG thermalling.

In big letters on the picture it'll say:

IS THIS YOUR "FINAL" APPROACH?

Take these to airports and hang them in pilots lounges, with a picture from the sectional showing our clearly designated flying site.
If we don't see any improvement in traffic conditions start sending these posters to news outlets.
I personally see this as a serious matter.
It's only a matter of time, even if there's no direct contact somebody you know, maybe you, is gonna get "waked" like you can't even imagine the violence of it, Those guy are goin' less than 250 and the AOA is a good one.

I'll be back soon. Save a spot in the airspace...steve

Don't alert the media

Historically when there are conflicts between recreational and commercial aviation, the public and the FAA side with commercial. There was a well publicized midair between a sailplane and a corporate jet last year near Carson City that illustrates what can happen when the media jumps in.

If there is ever a midair between a HG/PG and a commercial jet anywhere, the FAA will consider shutting down our sport everywhere. The least we might get away with is transponder requirements and perhaps FAA regulated licensing.

I would support efforts to make the Ontario traffic more aware of our presence. I would oppose going public with it. It would not be in our best interest.
