Fourth of July at Elsinore

I arrived at launch with 2 other PG pilots at 11:30. There were 3 HG's there setting up already. I saw the back flag switch to blowing down. So I launched first at 12:10, followed pretty quick by everyone else. Turns out we didn't need to launch that early as it continued to blow in for another hour that I know of. It was pretty easy to get up. We had made plans to land on the 'island' on the lake where all the boats congregate. Must have been 200 of them.
I shadowed them and came in swooping the boats and had a good landing on the beach. Lots of cheers. A green bikini brought me a cold beer. Very nice. Then Quinn landed and John Pitt came within two feet of Quinn on his landing. Cheers and beers from the crowd. Then Clock Boy started doing loops on his HG and landed on the beach too. More green, red and blue bikinis with cold beer. What a great LZ! We got a ride on a boat back to where we parked at Johns house on the beach. Where we BBQ'd and later watched the best fireworks show I have ever seen. Oh, 7200' msl for an hour and a half. Saw Quinn take the worst beating from a thermal I have ever seen. Thats when he really wanted to cross the lake. LMAO. A great day in Elsinore.
