We lost the Elsinore LZThe EHGA has lost the court battle for the LZ. Forums > Events & Site Projects Sites > Elsinore Alternate? Is there a viable alternate LZ to develop, or is all property taken? Can the city make a few acres available somewhere? Last Time at the Oak TreeSo that's why nobody else landed there today. LZLocals are frowning on landing in the old LZ any longer because Flying will continue in ElsinoreThere are plenty of places to land here. Parking at the park and ride in front of the market at 74 and Grand is good option. We can land in any number of fields along Grand Ave. Landing is not really an issue here. It is the hanging out with others pilots and hearing the stories after flying that is the problem. To address one of the questions, this side of the lake is county property, so the city has nothing to do with this. They have been approached and are unable to help us. There are a few pieces of property available for a great LZ. But we are a poor club and can't afford that kind of purchase. THERE MUST BE SOMETHING WE CAN DO!!!!!Does anyone know anyone who's really good at putting together videos? If we did some sort of short Warren Miller kind of vid about Elsinore--it's history, how integral a part of the site freestyle was/is, the community of pilots and some of their antics over the years, interviews, etc. HOW CAN THE CITY THAT TOUTS ITSELF AS AN "EXTREME SPORTS CAPITAL" NOT PROVIDE AN L/Z? Rumor Has ItThat the Oak Tree LZ at Elsinore is open on a "use it or lose it" basis. |
