New Forum member with a neat webpageWelcome to Jonathan Dietch of Long Beach, CA. "I was a Hang 3 when I last flew 26 years ago and now I'm working on getting back into the sport." On his website he has a lot of interesting pictures of gliders he designed, built, and flew in the early 1970s in Michigan vicinity. Forums > BS (Banter Section) Flight > Gliders Sites > Elsewhere welcome backJonathan is NMErider on ozreport and hanggliding.org. Jonathan, PM me at hanggliding.org when you know you'll be at the hill. If I am at the hill that day, I'll make an effort to get some of the process of your return on video. John Wright aka KnumbKnuts Good to be coming backHey thanks everyone for the welcome back wishes! I have arranged for training w/ Joe Greblo that he will tailor for my needs once we've done some tandem soaring at Sylmar and evealutaed me at Dockweiller. Hopefully, I can earn my Hang 3 back by the end of 2008. Right now, I'm shaking off the flu from Hades before I attempt any lessons. I have a line on a barely used 2001 Falcon 195 and if that doesnt't materialize I'm still looking for one for the right price. Having flown some decent double surface back in 1981 I might want a wing that penetrates well once I have that 3 again. That would be great to have some "Knumb struck" moments of my re-training process. I'll probably look like Woody Allen when they woke him 500 years in the future in 'Sleeper'. Cheers, Jonathan |
