ajlz 10am its STEAMING down at 10 sustained. wtf. so much for the forecast switch time. loaded up to marshall. owen gave us all "how to juggle" lessons. found out i'm a gifted rock dropper.
just like a switch, in 10 minutes the north gave way to strong S thermal cycles. finally punchoff at 245 late start but beats a blank. dialed into a beauty in front o cloud and beamed up to 8k and hit the hiway. high alt 11.9 just east of mt. baden-powell. ended up out on avenue L & 90th west. some offroaders were loading up their trailers and I yell down for them to kick some dust. they couldnt figure out where the voice was coming from. I asked them to face into the wind. nope they just turned and watched as I made my approach. here comes bruce 1500 ft overhead to finish 8 miles beyond. the antelope valley was a sea of green with orange poppy fields in full bloom. wow is right Ken.

Well, not Bakersfield but fun none the less. Dan, do you mind posting your tracklog? I like to see how much your course line deviated from mine once we went our separate ways just short of Wrightwood.

Without contact because of radio problems, and thinking that I had run into the seabreeze near Pear Blossom (I hadn't; just some localized west wind I guess) I turned around thinking that I'd try an out and return. As you can see I didn't get far. Took a low leaner off the deck that actually had strong drift from the NE. But I didn't like where it was drifting me to so I bailed out of it and landed.

It was SW from Kagel all the way to Crestline, and with climbs around 8-10K (topped 11K once over Cook, it was basically an easy flight.
I arrived over AJ with 7K, puzzled what to do with it.
4 of us made the trip that day.

Vrezh.
