Elsinore Fri Mar 28

Three bags and a stick wing arrived at launch at 12:00. It was blowing straight in 5-10 mph. We could see a big fat haze dome building to the south and the birds were infesting the thermals. I launched first at 12:30 and was quickly followed by the rest of the pilots. Got right up in the corner house thermal. Tracked up and back to 5K msl. Everybody went south about a couple of miles and we got up to 5800' plus. Got bumpy at the inversion. The convergence came and went to the east and we could have followed easily as the south shear and the north shear came through and cloud streets set up on both. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. It was blowing down on launch when I got back there around 1:30. It was nice and smooth at 8-10 mph from the west. I and another bag had nice top landings. (we became driver hero's). One of the pilots had been out here flying during the week and said it was like that all week. Seems like someone turned the switch on for the season.
