Bushes near the Bottom of Crestline LaunchI saw a couple of launches at Crestline today that came pretty close to the bushes down the slope. These were good running launches with a reasonable amount of wind coming up the slope. We could all benefit from some trimming down there when these long runs are needed. Are we allowed to cut those bushes in broad daylight or does that have to happen “by itself" some night? Bushes near the Bottom of Crestline LaunchI was one of the pilots that had a close encounter with Mr. Bush/Tree/Branches:) I had a strong run with the nose down, i lifted and was flying with great air speed. After i traveled about 20 feet forward a thermal banked me 40 degrees to the left. The headwind seemed to drop to zero as indicated by my wing starting to loose roll response. I pulled in to get the wing flying again There were lots of pilots getting nice 2 hour flights today. a bunch of visiting pilots were fun to fly with. Mike Z From what I knowhand tools - no big deal. power tools, due to fire considerations, you need to take precautions. Not a definitive answer, mind you.
