quick pinsgoing through misc hg stuff and found some quick release pins. 1/4" diam 1-1/2" grip length. useful on round base tube to replace the bolt and nut with safety ring arrangement. I'll put a few in my truck and if you want one, just hit me up in the AJLZ. Avibank brand stainless steel, 2 ball, push. 1 buck each. i also have some 1/4 inch neoprene rubber round cord for the old style vario downtube mounts. its the grippy part that sits on the downtube. free to good home. Forums > Marketplace washer or capyou can put a washer or one of those cool caps on the end if you're worried it might slip out. under flying load you would need a hammer to get it to come out. they are long enough to protrude well beyond the outside of the tube and at a glance you can see if its in all the way. I used these for hundreds of flights on my ultrasport and falcon never had a problem. you push the pin in to the end and youre done. when you stand the glider up look at it again. obviousy not for everybody but saves a bit of time in setup and teardown and theres no small parts to drop gotta go fly, later! |

quick pins
Hey Dan, I think the end fittings for Pip Pins have Stainless Steel sleeves that keep the tiny ball lock from pulling out. I am wondering if you use a Pip Pin in the softer aluminum tubes if there is a chance that it could pull through. I know some of the holes on base tubes have been enlarged from wear........
I would check with Wills Wing on this.
