Hey dan, do you wanna go catch a thermal do you huh do ya rebar? Monday HookeyMonday hookey is the best kind, when you can get away with it. If it was a jazz tune, we'd have to call it "Thermally Monday". Launched into good wind and beautiful lift. Worked the bowl below Marshall at first, then wandered over to Cloud. Sounded like birds in mating season, there was so much squawking and beeping and whistling. Wait...is that what the vario is supposed to sound like? TURN, Fool!! This whole concept is starting to make sense....the hill certainly seems to be lower than a minute ago....Holy Shit! The vario says 5k and that over there is the top of Marshall. Worked out towards Cloud again (greedy lil' bastard!)and got some more to 5.5k. Back to the wave above Marshall eventually gaining to 6200. Seeing the street grid of Hesperia looking OVER Crestline was really cool. And to top off a great 40 minute flight, I managed a decent landing, even though I had to keep the bar stuffed to avoid over shooting the LZ. Next time, set up the approach a little lower. All in all, my best flight yet. Yahooo!!!! work to live, don't live to work |
