Marshall, 29 Feb. 08It was sunny from the get-go in North San Bernardino, but thick marine layer stuff points south and west. Almost no wind all day, and as the marine layer pushed in and up it just got more and more stable. Mostly sleds with the occasional phantom thermal bump. Inversion reached Marshall level between 12:30 and 13:00. What was amazing was the number of pilots out to fly! There were Canadian PGers, there were Belgians of both types, there were locals from all over, and there was the test crew. We did five rounds of flights, and I got 0.8 hrs airtime! Still, beats a lot of other things. Tomorrow looks better, but similar. Then offshore for a couple of days, then in again. Flight gory details on my website. Good Flying, Forums > Pilot Reports Flight > HG Sites > Marshall I got yer short shrift right herehttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DFUuBIAT7dY Quick & dirty. Flinched there right at the good spot... I still prefer cams with eyepieces. There were some fun ones. |

strange day
The forecasts didn't predict that marine layer coming in with a vengeance, that's for sure.
All those pilots launching and going down made the place look like it was a pinewood derby for a-dults.
Some interesting landings in there. 'Nuff said.
