Half A'LadderWANTED--one half of a 18ft or 20ft aluminum ladder for my roof rack project. Gotta have a rack ready when Santa downloads my wings. Info leading to the apprehension/aquisition of said object worth two (2) beers. Arigato! Joel Forums > Marketplace Flight > Marketplace · Equipment Environs > Transportation LadderSanta only flies one night per year and he smells like reindeer butt when he's done. So unless he chooses to transform my little fleet Tacoma into a 4WD monster, I gotta make it last long enough to pay off the Falcon. Maybe I can mount spreaders to the ladder and up my capacity to TWO gliders, thus side-stepping the dreaded "anti-social" stigma. Got some ideas for custom molded instrument fairings that would be WAY cleaner than the "stick" pods I see for sale. Maybe those can help with the "payoff curve". And light, rigid fairings to streamline the down tubes of us Round Tube Fliers, who maybe can't afford the fancy stuff at first.... Capacity & FairingsWell, my 2WD V6 Tacoma carries 4 gliders and pilots out to Marshall without complaining. Using instrument fairings with a single-surface glider might compensate for the drag from a small fraction of the exposed crossbar, but hey, knock yourself out. As long as you're out there getting to fly. You can have mineJoel, I have a ladder thats already padded and ready to go. You can have it for free. Any chance you could get my diver delivered to AJ? I currently have no glider capable vehicle. I'm in Joshua Tree. George LadderGeorge: How long is the ladder? My Fat Falcon measures 21' in the bag. Thank you!! I don't see any problem bringing your diver (I assume you mean your Sport 2 glider)to AJ for you. Maybe a Saturday morning? I'm in Victorville. Let me know soon, please. Thanx, Joel Sho Nuff!Joel. Sho nuff, I have a Sport 2. Good memory! The ladder is........long enough. If memory serves, a Sport 2 is about the same pack length as a Falcon. No matter, this ladder is FAR longer than my diver needed. So HELL YEA! Come grab my ladder and diver, and we'll head for the LZ. COOL BEANS! Win Win. GZ George |

Why not use BOTH halves of
Why not use BOTH halves of an extension ladder side-by-side so you can carry more gliders? Makes turnarounds a lot quicker and easier. Single-glider racks are clearly anti-social and Santa doesn't like them either...
