a crazy-good day. mozied into the lz at 12:30pm with no ride prearranged. stan shows up five minutes later and asks if i needed a ride. already i can tell this is going to be a good day.

launched crestline and climbed to 6,300 just to the left of launch, and followed stan east. on the other side of highway 18, i caught a nice one to 7k and continued east to the high school. there i got to 7,200. santa's village was my next stop, back up this time to 7,300. jumped over running springs, and hooked up with a gentle giant with very little drift to 7,600. an easy stroll over to keller peak (snow valley) where i climbed to just over 8k. i hung out there for about a half hour trying to find the trigger to get me even higher, but didn't find anything... time to head west.

from 8k it's an easy glide back to running springs. out front just over the 330, i found lift to 7,300 and that was all i needed to make the jump across the valley back to santa's village. i found steve corbin playing with the lift in front of strawberry, so i watched him wing and wang around as i climbed back to 7.2k there. time to go on glide. i didn't make another turn until i got to the cajon pass tower. just boated along at 6k forever. at the tower, i climbed to 7k and continued west across the 15 freeway, and into the foothills where the north winds were starting to bounce me around. time to head home.

a quick buzz of marshall, then a roam around the college into a very green lz. stan greets me with a beer. wow, life is good. and a very happy birthday to you stan! a super guy, a super day, thanks again stan.
