Elsinore, Labor DayI arrived at launch at 11:30 and found it blowing straight in at 6-9 mph from the East. The back flag blew from the SW at 11:55 pretty strong. I set up and launched as it was getting ready to blow down. I got off at 12:00. Worked the house thermal and the E cone for a while and then I hit the big one. Next thing I know I am over 7K msl. I took a deep breath and followed Alex NW along the range. Passed Saddleback at least 3500' over. Cloud hopping the whole way. Got to Corona and lost Alex. I was at least 9K msl. I played there for a long time and then decided to go North over the 15. I ended up landing easily in a field next to the Arco AM/PM at the 6th St exit in Norco on the 15 freeway. Great flight, Thanks Alex. Forums > Pilot Reports Flight > PG Sites > Elsinore |
