So, how was it today?

My best client Crazy Ivaned me this week with an expansion into a nearby building, so I spent the whole day on a couple of roofs, hooking up wireless equipment and looking at the beautiful sky.

I had scheduled today for flying over a month ago, so please do me the next best and tell me how it was, so I can live vicariously through you.

It sounds like the hill was crowded, if what I read about rides was any indication. I hope it was buoyant.

Cheers,
KnumbKnuts

execellent

I took the 11am McBus up because all others were full. It ended up being just me and Rob on the Tandem paraglider. Got to almost 6000 over Marshall a couple of times. Got a nice hour of smooth thermaling. I got a ride back up and launched again around 3:45 at Marshall. The house thermal was working consistently. The best part was that it was all Hang Gliders up there for a change, too windy for the bags. I ended up getting 2 hours and buzzed a spectator in a Jeep at the 750.

A great day

-Dave

let's do it again

Bitchin day. I bumped up against 8K and hit 7K a couple more times in a couple different places. Let's do it again today!

8-19-07

It looked like a good PG day/early evening at Soboba today. I was returning from a long XC flight out of Elsinore when I passed quite a few PG working the S ridge after 6pm. Believe it or not I launched late from Elsinore and made it out to the Salton Sea and Chiraco summit via Anza and was able to make it back to Elsinore by way of the Banning pass and Soboba landing at 7:30pm. Not really that impressive considering the wing I was flying was a Cessna 150K with a 100hp continental. See you in the air, Alan

RE: alDpal

- Alan, I can confirm the great day at Soboba for PG. Eight pilots met at 3:30 and were all in the air just after 5. Many 2 hour plus flights and most landed after 7. Mike has already posted to the Soboba web site http://groups.yahoo.com/group/sobobasoaring/message/554

No 100 hp assistance required :-)

John, I didn't launch until

John,
I didn't launch until about 4:40. (Hopefully this was my last rental flight (Falcon 225)). I took delivery of my HE Tracer from Rob and after a few adjustments by Rob, it felt pretty good. Although after flying, it still needs a few small tweaks. I worked the ridge and house in front of Marshal for a long time but couldn't get more than about 500ft over. Headed for Pine and was to low by the time I arrived. Worked the ridge West of Pine and could not get much more than about a few hundred over. Flew around with Dusty for some time looking for something to take us up, but it was not to be found. (Not much sink, just floated around. Pretty cool) Headed back to Marshal and worked out front for a while and could not get back over. Finally headed for the LZ at about 6:45 and landed at about 7Pm. Dusty and I had a great time scraping around. We were the last two HGs to land. "Sorry you had to work."

Thanks
