Crestline Soaring Society

I arrived at launch at 11:30 and I launched into a 7-12 mph pretty much straight in from the ENE at 12:15. Was able to get up to 1.5K over launch in 10 min. But that was it for the next two hours. Then, the shear rolled through and we got up to 5.5K MSL. I played local for a while and knew that it had been blowing down for a while, so I took off for the lake convergence. Got it! Spent the next hour plus playing over the NW end of the lake. Following thermals to 6K MSL. Waved to the jump plane when he came by, twice. Landed in the field on the NW corner of Grand and 74. Across the street from O'Hara's Roadhouse. Where I found air conditioned big screen TV with a race on. Free chili cheese dogs. And of course, cold adult beverages. Nice finish to a 3 hr 15 min flight. Big Craig had the best Hang flight at 2 1/2 hrs.
