HG Pilot Moving to Ridgecrest from E. Tennessee

Hello all,

My name is Tony Fabiszak. I’m an East Coast H3 who is moving to the Ridgecrest area next month. I am looking to hook up with some local pilots and clubs to get to know the soaring in the area. I’ve studied the southern California sites as best I can from Tennessee, but the locals know best!

Both Sylmar Hang Gliding Association and CSS seem like great clubs, but The CSS, Crestline and Marshal are a little closer to my new location than the Sylmar sites.

Let me tell you a little about my flying background:
I’ve been flying for around two years now with the Tennessee Tree Toppers and at my unregulated home site at Chilhowee Mt., TN. I’ve got about 50 hours and 100 mountain flights on my Moyes XT “Pro” 165. My flying experience is mountain foot launched ridge and thermal soaring and I’m just starting to get into XC flying.

Anyway, I just wanted to touch base with the pilots in the area, and I look forward to meeting and flying with all of you. Please let me know if you would be interested in introducing me to a few of the local sites.

Thanks,

Tony Fabiszak

Fly everyday?!

Tony,

Will you be able to resist flying everyday? You also will have Lake Elsisore and Torrey Pines within driving distance. It's a perfect time to move here the fly'n season is starting to warm up. Welcome!
