Tue time lapseway cool today's time lapse. Forums > Weather Observations & Conditions time lapseJust saw on the news the Little Mountain fire and then again on the web cam. Very cool Ken! Hey Dan, last time I checked today was Tuesday... I hope, I think, crap... I don't know what day it is either. Piece o mindKen and Owen, Thanks! Thanks again Dusty Well, there goes...Great timing on your latest mad scientest project, Ken. By the way, where were you today late this afternoon??? Images Probably Lost =8oI was home in Berdoo. Had a good view from my front yard of the flames coming down the hill around 6 PM. All the neighbors outside, a couple of fire trucks going up and down the street, some patrol cars, lots of spectators in cars, plus the ice cream trucks were out in force. I can imagine throwing a case of popsicles onto a burning roof... The real bummer here is that crestlinesoaring.org's upper-tier server started blocking my IP address late last night, so I couldn't get in to copy the day's image files to another location. I have the scripts set up to simply clear out the time-lapse image folder at 4 AM each day; I haven't settled on an archiving scheme yet. It was after 10 PM, and since I couldn't get to any sites hosted on those servers but could get to everything else on teh interweb, I presumed that they were down. My only hope is that the images are still in the browser cache of one of my home machines. Good Flying, capturing pilotsi mentioned to ken that the number of pilots captured by the web cam was going to go up 100 fold. i was wrong, it will be more than that. two already today. may 9th 10:05 am |

Little Mountain Fire Time Lapse, 8 May 07
It looks like some smoke from farther west rolls in just before dark. Griffith Park fire?
The fire burned down the hillside to within 1/4 mile of my house. A home on the hillside might have gotten charred, at least.
Good Flying,
