ken howells - super genius!check out what ken is working on right now! http://www.crestlinesoaring.org/webcam/marshallCam_daySeq.php?interval=0.5 totally cool time lapse marshall cam images! Forums > Weather Observations & Conditions Too Chunky?Mid-morning today (Tues.) I increased the compression on the stored images to see if the sequence loaded more smoothly the first time through at higher speeds. I just took a break from working on a client's website and decided to see how it looked. You can see the compression artifacts now, and the files aren't really much smaller, so I don't know if it's worth it. Seeing the smog roll in after 16:00 is neat, but ugly. Imagine my surprise when I noticed the fire breaking out on Little Mountain at 17:10! I'm 1/4 mile from the base of the hill and just under 1 mile SE from where it started. Luckily the wind's SW right now. I reduced the image compression just now to get a better look. Good Flying, I see your Wow and raise you a Wowie Wow wowReally cool watching the north wind kick up dirt from fields all over the valley. You could sort of see a pattern to it. |

Slower interval first time through might be better
Less flashing if you start with:
http://www.crestlinesoaring.org/webcam/marshallCam_daySeq.php?interval=1
or maybe even the default 3 seconds:

Once your browser has cached the images, then you can do the high-speed thing.
And watch that hyperbole - Ken's somewhat gullible...
