Elsinore Fri 27th

Wow! What a day it turned out to be. It was blowing strong when I got to launch. Too strong for me. 17 to 21 mph from the ENE. But things looked like they were going to get better. And they did. It died down to 13 to 18 mph. 1st hang glider launched at 1:45, (Spike). He worked it for 15 min or so and then caught a good one. Last I saw of him he was about 8K msl and going NW. He later told me he got to 12,830 msl and headed to the beach. He arrived at San Jaun Cap at 6K over. Kudos to his driver Linda.
A PG launched and he worked for about 15 min and sank out. Another hang pilot launched, (Jack). He went out front of the E Cone and caught one that took him back over the Edwards launch and up to 10,200 msl. I was the wire guy for Jerry's hang launch. He sank out. I then launched at 2:15 and went to the house thermal and worked that and the E cone for about 15 min and then I caught one that took me back and up to 6500' msl. I got nervous getting that far behind launch, so I pushed back out front. If I had stayed back with Jack then maybe I could have gotten way high and went to the beach too. Next time. A visiting PG pilot from Moscow, Russia got skunked on launch by 5 min. And it blew in until 3:30 today. He's coming back tomorrow and try again. See you there
