Skiing Pilots

Hello Friends
I have a brand new shiny Wills Wing U2 sitting at the Wills factory, and I'm trying to find it a ride up to Bishop. The flying kinda sucks right now, but the skiing at Mammoth is fantastic! If any pilots with a roof rack are heading up this way to take some sledders on the snow and wouldn't mind some extra gas money, please get in contact with me. I promise I won't make any more bad puns.
Elsinore 09-01-07

Interesting weather today. Did not see or hear any HG or PG flying Elsinore today, which was probably a good thing considering the weather progression here today. I took a 1:40 pm 1600 agl tow in a sailplane and flew out to Diamond Valley Lake topping out a bit over 12K over Canyon Lake enroute. Got to go around a couple of microburst rain and lightning cells near Perris airport and over the center of Lake Elsinore. Very cool looking down on the lightning from 10K+ and just a mile or two south of it. Both microbursts were tight and well defined. I have to start bringing a camera more often. Only flew a couple of hours but it was enough to remind me how fortunate we are to be able to experience soaring regardless of what particular wing we are using. I still love HG the best, but on a quick developing day it is nice to have a VNE of 149 kts, and not to have to use the old legs for landing gear. See you in the air, Alan
Wills Wing Multi-Use Tubes

The attached picture shows what to do when your Catalytic Converter is stolen from your car.

I cut this piece of of tubing from an old cross bar. The fit could not have been any better. Maybe a few 1/1000 of an inch play.

It saved on having to call a tow truck to haul my Tacoma down to Toyota......

Ps. I guess the tube passed the liquidus temp. test.

Flying with a snake

Picked this up off the Cessna 150 list:

Snake on a plane
Friday June 02, 2006

When Monty Coles lifted his small plane into the air for a leisurely
flight over the West Virginia countryside, he didn't know a
blacksnake had stowed away inside the airplane's instrument panel.

"As far as I was concerned, everything was fine," said Coles, a 62-
year-old private pilot from Cross Lanes. "I did a very cautious pre-
