Richard Seymour Memorial Saturday June 28, 2008

With great sadness, we report that Richard Seymour was fatally injured while flying on Saturday, June 21, 2008. He was 57 and had been flying for nearly 20 years. He is survived by his wife, Julie.

The exact cause of the accident is uncertain, but Richard was unable to maintain control of his glider while on approach to land. The last hang gliding fatality in Los Angeles County was more than 21 years ago.

Fausto

Sad news. Our friend and fellow pilot, Fausto, has died suddenly from complications of an very recent illness. It all apparently happened so fast. He was a kind and soft spoken PG pilot so much liked by all the pilots and visitors to the site. Dianne and I extend our condolences to his family and friends. He will surely be missed.

Stupid ankle!

So... yeah. I managed to give myself a "grade 3" sprain on my right ankle at the rock climbing gym this evening. Odds are I won't be flying for at least a week, maybe two, maybe more, depending. Going to see my GP/an orthopedic dude tomorrow to see what more I need to do about it, get the orthopedic dude to confirm I haven't completely messed up any ligaments, etc.

LAME.
