Meeting

The Fall meeting was brief and fairly routine. Kim Floyd showed up and is healing well; he took minutes in place of the absent Kathy Rhodes. The riding mower has been ordered ($1200 + $100 delivery) and might be here in a day or two.
We decided to apply to USHGF for 50% funding for a tractor purchase, projected to total about $18,000. Rob reported getting advice from Tom Terrific (sp?) to wait a few months for an expected rise in availability and drop in prices as the housing slump leads to a lot of surplus equipment. We should have the cash ready so we can act quickly when the right deal appears. Reimbursement from USHGF would come after we buy, most likely. Alan reported that we could sustain an 18k outlay for a while, but buying the tractor without the USHGF would cut into the reserve funds too much.
Cross Country Ranch LLC and its owners were added as named insureds on our USHPA site insurance, and added to the CSS waiver as released parties. Contract with the Ranch for $500/mo for access and improvements, backdated to March 2006, was approved.
Board voted to allow Alan to purchase a CD with part of the reserve fund, the vote a formality required by the financial institution.
CSS Toy Drive was set for Sat., Dec. 16th, with the nearby fire station as the recipient.

Good Flying,
Ken Howells
