We'll be having our annual toy drive on Saturday, Dec. 22, 2007 in the AJ Airpark LZ from 2-4 PM. Collected toys will be added to the local fire station's toy collection efforts for them to distribute to the community.
We'll provide holiday beverages and cookies and other goodies from 2 to 4. If it's a flyable day, we'll be flying. If not, we'll just pile up the toys and take a picture. Weather permitting, the firemen may come out to pick up the toys.
The club will be making a cash donation, as usual, and Di, Kathy, and whomever else want to help will be using it to purchase a variety of toys beforehand. If you don't have time or inclination to get a toy and bring it to the LZ on the 22nd, you're welcome to make a donation (in the LZ drop-box is fine - mark the envelope 'Toy Drive') between now and then.
The toys go through the fire department to local underprivileged youth to help brighten their holiday season and are a way for us to keep a connection to the local first responders whose help we need from time to time.
2003 Toy Drive: A nice turnout for the 2003 Toy Drive on Dec. 20th. The mountainside in the background burned in the 'Old' fire 3 weeks earlier.
