Pete's blogAJ Airpark 13th Anniversary Fly-In Contest Results PostedI've posted the results to the AJ Airpark 13th Anniversary Fly-In Glide and Spot Landing contests. You can see them in all their glory here: http://www.crestlinesoaring.org/aj_airpark_13th_anniversary_contest_results Thanks to everyone who helped run the contests, Bruce Carr and his wife for the amazing trophies, and all the pilots who participated. Airpark Anniversary Fly-in Contest RulesI just posted the rules for the two contests we are running at the AJ Airpark 13th Anniversary Fly-in. Here are the: Spot Landing Contest Rules These rules are not set in stone yet, and I would appreciate any feedback folks have on them. I am also still searching for someone to help run the PG glide contest. Anyone interested, please leave a comment here, or send me an email: pete@peterjohanson.com HAM training day(s) planningOn a recent flying day at Soboba, I mentioned to Alan Crouse that I really needed to stop slacking and get my HAM radio technician license so I could operate (legally) a radio while flying. Alan replied (I paraphrase), "A HAM radio training day at Marshall sounds exactly like something a new activities coordinator would put together!" So there we have it, looks like I've got a new task! The current vague outline is either a one day training, or two days of training, either the same weekend, or spread over two weekends. Spread over two weekends would give people time to study up what they learned, before taking the test the next weekend. Ideally, by the end of the training day(s), folks would walk away licensed HAM radio technicians, ready to add their words of wisdom to the AJ Airpark airwaves. |
