Humility is Kickin My Ass

This whole weekend looks like good flying, and here I sit with a wrecked truck. KEE-RAP!!! The day after my best flight (Tuesday), I was thoroughly humbled, and wrecked on the way home. Thank God the other driver is unhurt. The insurance people say it's a total loss, and I didn't even pop the airbag!
If anyone knows of a glider carrier going to Andy Jackson on Friday or Saturday passing through Victorville, please let me know. Hoping I can talk Rob into a short-term storage, until I can get my truck rolling again, with a remounted rack. HELL, I got the rack fixed before I heard from the insurance people. It may be ugly when I'm done, but all the lights work, the radiator is ok, and I'm damned if Met Life gets to screw me over. If I don't make it down there, all of you have great flights.

Flytime

Hey, All!
I NEED flight time on Saturday, Mar 22, or Sunday Mar 23, since that is looking better. Anybody planning to fly, with whom I can hitch a ride up the hill? I can and will pay the usual freight. Or equal payment in the brewski of your choice! Please respond here in the forum, or call me @ 760-684-9057. Thanks, Joel

Half A'Ladder

WANTED--one half of a 18ft or 20ft aluminum ladder for my roof rack project. Gotta have a rack ready when Santa downloads my wings. Info leading to the apprehension/aquisition of said object worth two (2) beers. Arigato! Joel

Mr. Paraglider pilot driver man, we salute you!

Thanks Mark for driving Dusty and I to crestline for an epic late evening flight, and to you Dusty for a fun ridge soaring session.

Crestline/Marshall 9/4 & 9/5 Hwy 18 closed- Fire off I-15 - Huge Thunderstorms!!!

Launched Crestline on Monday 9/4/2006 after after 6pm. Wind speed was under 17 MPH. Crazy weather day with massive thunder storms, rain from Big Bear starting around 11:00 a.m. all the way to Crestline for a good part of the day. Traffic was a mess with all the closed roads, bad weather, and holiday traffic. I flew over HWY 18, and checked out the tanker spill a few times on Monday evening around sunset.
