Friday 13

Three Crestliners and three Eteamers flew together over Crestline.
All of us had 2 hrs plus flights. 1200 over billbard was the highest anybody mentioned. I screwed up and forgot to tie a not in my Ultrasport VG chord after replacing downtube and it flew pretty poorly after the chord sucked up the downtube. I sank out and was in the landing pattern with two paragliders, harness unzipped when I core a big fat one and climbed up over Marshall. Found a second boomer behind Marshall and climbed to 5500. Flew back to Crestline and met up with the bunch. Got to 6000 in a really strong thermal, but the drift was hard over the back and no vg I felt like I was flying a falcon, so I had to pull out and return to the ridge. We got to watch Eric Delf do loops and swoop the Marshall launch on his Talon. After flying there was a birthday celebration in the LZ so we were treated to hot dogs and all the

Crestline Soaring Society

The Hang Gliding & Paragliding Club for San Bernardino, CA, USA

The CSS is a non-profit organization (501(c)(3)) which exists to serve the foot-launched flying community in the San Bernardino Mountains - Crestline & Marshall Peak in particular - and Southern California and beyond in general.

We encourage you to come and be a part of one of the premier flying sites the world has to offer.

Our club maintains launches in the San Bernardino National Forest and leases a landing zone, Andy Jackson Airpark, in the valley to ensure that our right to fly is not infringed. As a chapter of the United States Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association (USHPA) we play a part in furthering HG & PG nationwide. The club also sponsors fun events a few times a year which attract pilots from far and wide.
