Flying Friday 3/28 ?

Anyone planning to fly AJ or elsewhere today Friday 3/28? I'm taking the day off and looking for action.

The Return of the Buoyant Afternoons?

Lots of HGs and PGs enjoyed the Friday flying today. There was plenty of sweet buoyant air saturating Marshall and Regionals and Cloud in the afternoon. Is it finally getting to be that time of the year?
Mike B. had a great first flight in his new U2 after a little comedy of errors. The battens had been accidently left out of the bag somehow during delivery. The poor guy went to set up his brand new glider on launch and they were missing. Fortunately Gene found them in the container and Mike drove down to get them. In the end it worked out, later in the day seemed a little better anyway.

Bushes near the Bottom of Crestline Launch

I saw a couple of launches at Crestline today that came pretty close to the bushes down the slope. These were good running launches with a reasonable amount of wind coming up the slope. We could all benefit from some trimming down there when these long runs are needed. Are we allowed to cut those bushes in broad daylight or does that have to happen “by itself" some night?
