archivesDon't Compute Before the Caffeine Takes EffectSimba the weather station needs an occasional reboot, for reasons I haven't determined. Yesterday morning I found that it had stopped uploading weather data and logged in to issue the reboot command. I had had my morning espresso, but it hadn't had time to hit the adrenal glands yet. I kind of automatically typed the 'shutdown -h now' command because I've used that on my laptop several times in the last week when I was done using it. That command halted the system. What I should have sent was 'shutdown -rn now', which would have rebooted the system. Doh! I'm guessing the Balls are out of town for the holidays and that's why they haven't cycled the power manually, as I requested by email. |
